FREE MATCHED BETTING CALCULATOR

Free matched betting calculator
Check both sides.

Enter your back odds, lay odds, stake and exchange commission. The calculator shows the lay stake, liability and your result whichever way the selection goes. Free to use, with no sign-up.

Illustrative example: a £10 free bet (stake not returned) backed at 5.00 and laid at 5.20 with 2% commission needs a lay stake of about £7.72. Liability is about £32.42, and you end up with about +£7.58 if the back wins or about +£7.57 if the lay wins. This is not a live offer. 18+ | BeGambleAware.org. Want the full process? Record your settled results in the profit log, which is kept only in this browser.

For a cash each-way or extra-place bet, use the each-way calculator. You type every price yourself.

This calculator works out one lay for the whole back bet. It assumes that single lay is fully matched and that both sides follow the same settlement rules. It has no input for a stake already matched at an earlier price, so it cannot work out a residual lay, and the stake it shows is not an extra lay to add on top of a partial match. “Stake returned” assumes the reward stake is paid as withdrawable cash on a win; check the offer.

USING THE CALCULATOR

Calculator questions.

What is the difference between SNR and SR?

If a stake not returned (SNR) free bet wins, you typically receive the winnings only, not the stake. If a stake returned (SR) free bet wins, the stake is paid too, so it behaves more like a normal back bet. Whether the stake is returned changes the maths, so choose the matching bet type and check the offer’s wording.

What are back odds and lay odds?

Back odds are the bookmaker’s price for your selection to win. Lay odds are the exchange’s price for betting against it. Enter both as decimal odds. The closer the two are, the smaller the gap between your two outcomes.

What is exchange liability?

Liability is what you lose on the exchange if the selection wins: the lay stake multiplied by (lay odds minus 1). You need enough cash in your exchange account to cover it. A free bet can need much more exchange cash than its face value.

What commission should I enter?

Enter the commission rate your exchange charges on net winnings, as shown on your account. Commission reduces what you keep from a winning lay, so it changes the lay stake. The illustrative examples on this site use 2%.

Is the calculator free?

Yes. It is free to use, with no sign-up. Its figures are estimates that assume one lay for the whole bet is fully matched and that both sides settle under the same rules. It cannot take a stake already matched at an earlier price, so that result is not an extra lay to add on top of a partial match.

Is this calculator for over-18s only?

Yes. Gambling in the UK is for adults aged 18 or over, and this site is for UK adults only. Matched betting still involves real bets and can lose money. If gambling starts to feel out of control, BeGambleAware.org and GamStop can help.
